PPC Jobs
Wednesday, 28 May 2008

This article is intended for Account Managers looking for a new PPC job. However, the key points can be used across all industries

To ensure you find the right SEM agency, we have compiled a few points you should consider at the interview/application stage.

What bid management tool do they use?

As a PPC account manager you will probably be using this tool for 70-85% of your day. You need to know how good it is, to do your job effectively.

How big is the team?

Many agencies now split the team into vertical specialists (Finance, Retail and Travel), however some like to diversify the clients with different account managers. There are benefits for both scenarios; however a diverse client base means you learn more.

What Clients will you work with?

As mentioned above, knowing the potential clients or verticals, can help you prepare for the work load. Many agencies probably won’t provide this, but try to get a hint and do some research online.

Do your research!

This is very important, go to their website and check the “about us” page, take down some bullet points on their clients, experience and philosophy. This always looks good in interviews.

Cover the basics.

Polish your shoes, wear a suit (shirt and tie), arrive on time and smile. These are very simple things, and we always tell our candidates to cover these.

The current increase in PPC Job vacancies means you have a pretty good chance of getting a PPC job. But make sure the agency is right for you. Do the research, maybe even talk to some account managers working there. Just be sure that when you go for the interview, you are positive you want to work there.
