Utilising search engine comparison sites like Price.com and Pricerunner, can help retail clients up weight their traffic volume.
The higher end Price Comparison sites do have an interface to upload your product database with a simple FTP upload.
Each comparison site charges on a cost per click (CPC) basis, similar to the search engines, however, this CPC is a flat rate for all listings. With the placement being ranked by Price order (cheapest first).
Many of the price comparison sites charge a CPC to a category level, so travel starts from £0.05 CPC and Computers £0.24 CPC. You are able to set strict budgets (similar to search engines) and controls the daily spend.
The only current issue with Price Comparison sites are the technology used to upload the product details. Many currently use an excel template which is FTPd into the server, though this is pretty basic, the update and approval lead time can be up to 72 hours. Which means regular price updates can take 3 days to go live, which can be an issue.
Many Price Comparison sites cover a wide range of verticals including Travel, Retail and Finance. In a ever expanding and competitive market. Experimenting with your traffic sources, can help you find a little nugget.
Price Comparison Marketing requires a lot of time to setup and analyse, Rockstack do offer unique consultative solutions to help you optimise and expanding your online marketing campaign.
